Educational Philosophy/Curricula

The entire process of education is seen as a means used by the Holy Spirit to bring the students into fellowship with God, to develop a Christian's mind set academically and to train them in Godly living, so they can fulfill God's total purpose for their lives personally and vocationally (Proverbs 22:6).

The authority for such an education comes both from God's command that children be taught to love God and place Him first in their lives (Mark 12:30), and from the fact that parents are responsible for the total education and training of their children (Deut. 6).  At the parent's request, LCA, along with the parents and churches, becomes a partner in providing this education.

Our curricula and hiring is based on a Christian worldview which is a belief that God created us in His image, sent His son, Jesus Christ, to die for the sins we have committed and that Jesus was resurrected for all who put their trust in Him.

To prepare our students to make the right choices in their lives, LCA offers a wide variety of subjects and present that subject knowledge in the light of Biblical truth.  In the early grades, (Preschool - 4th) we focus on developing a basic, solid educational foundation from which to build on in later years.  The three "R's" of Reading, Writing, and "Rithmetic" are emphasized, in addition to a respect for others in the light of Biblical truth.  In the middle level grades (5 - 8) we continue to focus on the basics but with a stronger emphasis on character development, Christian values, and a broader perspective of the world.   High School students are required to obtain 26 credits to graduate with a diploma.  LCA meets or exceeds the graduation recommendations of the State of Missouri in the study of English, math, science, etc.  High School students take 4 years of Bible instruction to better know Christ and to honor Him in their daily lives.  To graduate from LCA means the students have a diverse range of knowledge and skills to help them understand their world within a Biblical framework.  By developing their knowledge, skills, and God-given talents, we hope to accomplish our vision so that our graduates will make the right choices in their lives no matter what direction God has ordained for them.

Preschool

LCA currently provides several Christian preschool options for children 4 years of age.  Additionally, we offer extended after-school care through the sixth grade. The preschool admissions process is a shortened version of the admission process for kindergarten through 12th grade students.  Tuition costs vary based upon full or partial day, and full or partial weekly enrollments (3 to 5 days) during the school year.

Our loving & caring teachers present God honoring lessons that develop spiritual, academic, and social skills.  We consider our pre-school program the first rung on the ladder of a solid Christian education. Classes for children four years old are preparatory in style and content for the upcoming school grades.
