Lunch Menu – December’s lunch menu is now available on teacherease.com. 

Christmas Program – Please join us this Friday for our Christmas Program.  Elementary students are asked to wear dressy attire.  No jeans please.

Christmas Program Clean-up – Coming to the Christmas Program?  Need Service Hours?  We need some help cleaning up the gym after the program (putting chairs away and putting the mats away).  Please reply to this email if you are able to help.

Service Hours – We are requiring our 7th – 12th Grade students to complete half of their service hours by Christmas break.  Students will be required to stay December 18th – 19th after finals to complete those hours.  REMINDER – STUDENTS IN 7TH & 8TH GRADES MUST COMPLETE 10 SERVICE HOURS AND STUDENTS IN 9TH – 12TH GRADES MUST COMPLETE 20 SERVICE HOURS BY THE END OF THE SCHOOL YEAR—half of those hours may be done outside LCA.  Students in 7th – 12th grades are allowed to stay on Wednesday, December 4th from 12-3 to do Service Hours if pre-arranged through the office by Tuesday, December 3rd.

Our 11th and 12th Graders will be participating in the Wright City Christmas Parade on Thursday, December 5th.  They are asking for candy donations.  If you are able to help, please send the bag of candy to the office.  Thank you in advance for your help.

Christmas Toy Drive – We are partnering with Wright City Chamber of Commerce to collect toys for children in the area.  Please drop off new, unwrapped toys in the barrel at LCA by Thursday, December 12th. 

Live Nativity – Tuesday, December 3rd, Righteous Rides in Warrenton will be hosting a celebration of Christmas Around the World. From 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM, they will host an open house with free food, live Christmas music, and nativity sets and decorations from around the world. A live nativity will allow kids to pet some of the animals. This is a fun, free evening for the whole family!  They are also looking for student volunteers to be in the live Nativity.

Spirit Week is November 18th – November 22nd.  Students may dress according to the theme days or wear LCA unified dress.

Monday is ‘Merica Day – show off that patriotic fever by wearing red, white, and blue.

Tuesday is Costume Day – be a super hero, dress as your favorite character from a book or movie, you get the idea.  Please make sure all costumes are school appropriate (no zombies, etc.)

Wednesday is Western Day.

Thursday is Color Wars – Each class wears a specific color (12th – blue, 11th – red, 10th – black, 9th – orange, 7th & 8th – white, 6th – purple, 5th – yellow, 4th – pink, 3rd – green, 1st & 2nd – silver/gray, Kindergarten – brown, PreK – any color/rainbow)

Junior/Senior Entrepreneur Class Businesses

Parents, need a night out?  Kingdom Seekers will watch your children ages 2 – 10 years old so that you can have a night out!  It will be held tomorrow, Saturday, the 9th, from 5 PM – 11 PM at Wright City Church of the Nazarene.  Students will have various activities including a pizza dinner, a Bible lesson, and movies.  Cost is $15 for the first child and $7 for each additional child.  To reserve your spot, please RSVP to Haley Hoffman.

Canned Food Drive – We are collecting canned/dry goods for our annual Canned Food Drive with the Wright City Firefighters which runs through November 6th at noon.  All food collected will go to the Wright City Food Pantry.   Remember, the class that brings in the most canned items wins a pizza party and a dodgeball game with the firefighters!

Funds will be collected until a time in November when we will send the money raised to Samaritan’s Purse.

Our 11th and 12th Graders participated in the Modern Woodsman Speech Contest.  The finalists were Liz Moss, Hope Kassebaum, Maddy Janes, Wesley Lawson, and Josh Dames.  Michael Foran received 3rd place, Olivia Sarver received 2nd place, and Jenna Grow received 1st place.  CONGRATULATIONS!!!

INFORMATION TO KNOW:

Elementary Soccer – Athletics would like to start an elementary soccer team.  This would be simply an introduction to teach the foundations.  There will not be any games played with other teams.  Our desire is to have 2 practices a week for the month of October.  If your child is interested in participating, please contact Mrs. Schloeman at sschloeman@lcaeagles.com.  We also NEED parents to help coach and/or help (This would count towards service hours.).  If you are interested in helping or coaching, please contact Mrs. Schloeman at sschloeman@lcaeagles.com.

Golf Tournament – Calling all golfers to save the date!  Saturday, September 14th is our annual Golf Tournament.  We need your help to get sponsors and golfers.  Attached is the flyer to distribute to friends, businesses or churches.  If you are interested in helping with the Golf Tournament, please contact Scott Dormeyer at bassindiesel@gmail.com.  Parents, we use these funds to help cover what tuition does not.  WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!!

Charcoal Grill – We need to borrow a few LARGE charcoal grills for the Golf Tournament.  If we can borrow your grill, please contact Scott Dormeyer at bassindiesel@gmail.com.

September Lunch Menu – September’s Lunch Menu is now available on teacherease.com.  Remember that you do not need to pre-order your child’s lunch; your child will order lunch that morning. However, students will not be able to order lunch if they have a lunch balance in excess of $30.

Field Day for PreK – 6th Grades will be Tuesday, May 21st, starting with a picnic lunch at 11:45 AM.  The Talent Show will begin around 2:00 PM.

Just a reminder, 7th – 12th Grade Students need to complete ALL service hours by May 21st.

7th -  11th Grade Finals – Finals for 7th – 11th grade students are Tuesday, May 21st – Thursday, May 23rd. 

·         Tuesday - students will take finals for their 3rd, 5th, and 7th hour classes and dismiss at noon. 

·         Wednesday - students will take finals for their 2nd, 4th, and 6th hour classes and dismiss at noon

·         Thursday - students will have Chapel, take their Bible final, and complete year-end responsibilities and dismiss at noon.

If service hours have not been completed, students will need to stay after school; please pack your child a lunch.

Looking for some service hours that you can do at home?  We need a few parents to put auction thank you letters in envelopes.  Please contact Mrs. Grow if you are interested in this project.
