·         We will not be using President’s Day as a snow make up day.  Enjoy that 4-day weekend!

·         The February Required Parent Meeting date has been moved.  It will now be Thursday, February 27th, at 6:30 PM in the Great Room.

·         Terra Nova Testing will be March 25th – 31st for 3rd – 6th grade students.  Students in 7th - 10th grades will test March 30th – 31st.  Please make every effort to have your students present and on time to school.

Heartgrams- The seniors will be selling Heartgrams and other items beginning Monday, February 3rd through February 13th. Although most items will be “Cash & Carry,” orders will be taken for food items.

Cookie Containers – There are several plastic containers from the Christmas program and utensils left from various events in the teacher’s lounge.  Please claim your items.

Wright City’s Kiwanis Club is asking us to partner with Wright City public school in a diaper drive for local families through the Parents as Teachers’ Program. Cash donations also will be accepted.  This drive will be a fun competition between LCA and Wright City school, to be completed at the LCA/Wright City Mayor’s Cup Basketball Game, Friday, January 24th.  Donations can be dropped off at LCA or you can bring them the night of the game.

Service Hours – We are requiring our 7th – 12th Grade students to complete half of their service hours by Christmas break.  Students will be required to stay December 18th – 19th after finals to complete those hours.  REMINDER – STUDENTS IN 7TH & 8TH GRADES MUST COMPLETE 10 SERVICE HOURS AND STUDENTS IN 9TH – 12TH GRADES MUST COMPLETE 20 SERVICE HOURS BY THE END OF THE SCHOOL YEAR—half of those hours may be done outside LCA.  Service Hours done over the summer or during 1st Semester must be given to Mrs. Schloeman by Monday, December 16th in order for them to count.

Thank you – Mrs. Fiske would like to thank all who donated to Samaritan’s Purse classroom project. The 7-12th grades raised $110! The money order went out to Franklin Graham’s organization this past week!

Outside Service Hours Opportunity for Students - Servant’s Heart will be ringing the bell for the Salvation Army Red Kettle campaign.  This is a great opportunity to help provide needed funding in Warrenton County to serve families in need. Christmas Program Clean-up – Coming to the Christmas Program?  Need Service Hours?  We need some help cleaning up the gym after the program (putting chairs away and putting the mats away).  Please reply to this email if you are able to help.

Live Nativity – Tuesday, December 3rd, Righteous Rides in Warrenton will be hosting a celebration of Christmas Around the World. From 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM, they will host an open house with free food, live Christmas music, and nativity sets and decorations from around the world. A live nativity will allow kids to pet some of the animals. This is a fun, free evening for the whole family!  They are also looking for student volunteers to be in the live Nativity.

Junior/Senior Entrepreneur Class Businesses

Parents, need a night out?  Kingdom Seekers will watch your children ages 2 – 10 years old so that you can have a night out!  It will be held tomorrow, Saturday, the 9th, from 5 PM – 11 PM at Wright City Church of the Nazarene.  Students will have various activities including a pizza dinner, a Bible lesson, and movies.  Cost is $15 for the first child and $7 for each additional child.  To reserve your spot, please RSVP to Haley Hoffman.

Canned Food Drive – We are collecting canned/dry goods for our annual Canned Food Drive with the Wright City Firefighters which runs through November 6th at noon.  All food collected will go to the Wright City Food Pantry.   Remember, the class that brings in the most canned items wins a pizza party and a dodgeball game with the firefighters!   

Dress Code Reminder – Please remember that leggings may be worn under a skirt as tights; however, they are not to be worn as pants.  This includes dress-down Fridays.

Our 11th and 12th Graders participated in the Modern Woodsman Speech Contest.  The finalists were Liz Moss, Hope Kassebaum, Maddy Janes, Wesley Lawson, and Josh Dames.  Michael Foran received 3rd place, Olivia Sarver received 2nd place, and Jenna Grow received 1st place.  CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Service Hours – We are requiring our 7th – 12th Grade students to do half of their service hours by Christmas break.  Students will be required to stay December 18th – 19th to complete required hours.  REMINDER – STUDENTS IN 7TH & 8TH GRADES MUST COMPLETE 10 SERVICE HOURS AND STUDENTS IN 9TH – 12TH GRADES MUST COMPLETE 20 SERVICE HOURS BY THE END OF THE SCHOOL YEAR.  Half of those hours may be done outside LCA.

STUCO is collecting candy as a community outreach for Warrenton’s Trunk or Treat. If you would like to donate bags of candy for this event, please label “STUCO” and send to the office by Thursday, October 24th.

The 7-12 English classes are raising funds to send to Samaritan’s Purse to help in the following ways:

7-10th grade classes are raising funds to share in a classroom build, while 11-12th voted to raise funds to Samaritan’s Purse Human Trafficking fund. Funds will be collected until a time in November when we will send the money raised to Samaritan’s Purse.

Please see the attached information about a Bingo and Chili Cook-off Contest to be held on November 1st.  The money raised with go towards Juvenile Diabetes.

INFORMATION TO KNOW:

Elementary Soccer – Athletics would like to start an elementary soccer team.  This would be simply an introduction to teach the foundations.  There will not be any games played with other teams.  Our desire is to have 2 practices a week for the month of October.  If your child is interested in participating, please contact Mrs. Schloeman at sschloeman@lcaeagles.com.  We also NEED parents to help coach and/or help (This would count towards service hours.).  If you are interested in helping or coaching, please contact Mrs. Schloeman at sschloeman@lcaeagles.com.

Family Game Night will be held in the LCA Cafeteria on Saturday, September 28th, October 5th, November 8th, and December 7th from 5 PM – 8 PM.  Admission is $3 per person.  Food and beverages will be available for purchase.  For High School students, games are also available Wednesdays during lunch and after school and on Fridays during S&E, lunch, and after school.  Admission is free on Wednesdays and Fridays with the purchase of a snack or beverage.
