Science Fair – The Science Fair was a huge success with many interesting projects! We are proud of all who participated. Special congratulations to the following winners:

Work Day—Need to get a jump start on your service hours…have we got a job for you. On Saturday, August 15th, bring your tool belts and servant’s hearts, as we get LCA ready for the start of the school year. Due to current COVID restrictions and guidelines, we are only allowing adults and 7th-12th grade students to participate. More details to follow.

Golf Tournament Fundraiser is scheduled for Saturday, October 3rd. This tournament helps to offset our Flexible Tuition Program. We need some help to organize this event. If you are able to help, please contact the office.

Open Gym has started for 7th – 12th graders interested in participating in basketball this year. Boys basketball will be on Monday nights 5:30 pm until 7:00 pm. Girls basketball will be on Tuesday nights from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm starting July 7th. These workouts are not mandatory, but we do believe they are important for skill development and so encourage our students interested to attend. Boys can contact Tanner Meyer and girls can contact Butch Clark for more information.

We will be having school Monday, April 13th as a snow make-up day. Please adjust your school calendar.

Enrollment for the 2020-2021 school year has begun! Parents/students are our best advertisement. Don’t forget the $250 (1st child), $125 (additional child) referral bonus for newly enrolled families you refer.

Service Hours – Reminder for 7th – 12th Grade students, all service hours need to be completed by May 15th. Students in 7th - 8th grades need 10 hours and students in 9th – 12th grades need to complete 20 hours.

Terra Nova 3 Testing – LCA will be administering the TN3 tests to grades 3rd-6th, 3/25-31 in the mornings. Students in 7th-10th grades will be testing on 3/30 & 31. Please make every effort to have your child in attendance and avoid scheduling morning appointments during this time. Thank you.

· The February Required Parent Meeting date has changed to Thursday, February 27th, at 6:30 PM in the Great Room.

· Terra Nova Testing will be March 25th – 31st for 3rd – 6th grade students. Students in 7th - 10th grades will test March 30th – 31st. Please make every effort to have your students present and on time to school.

Re-enrollment – Enrollment for the 2020-2021 school year has begun. You should have received an email with more information. If you need assistance filling out the paperwork, please contact the office.

Congratulations to the following students for receiving Star Artists Awards for turning in outstanding art projects: Brody Pogue, Brinley Kayser, Miles Matz, Reed Bauer, Megan Pierson, Morgan Roden, and Morgan Pitman

One student was selected from each class for turning in work that was of excellent quality for them and for displaying the same quality of behavior during class time. These students have their artwork on display on a bulletin board in the cafeteria, and they have received a special certificate which includes a small award.

Needed – Mrs. Donaldson (our music teacher) is in need of 5 gallon buckets for music classes. If you are able to donate any 5 gallon buckets, please contact Mrs. Donaldson at cdonaldson@lcaeagles.com or the office.

Lost and Found – Our Lost and Found table is over flowing with LCA gear, coats, water bottles, and other goodies. If your child is missing something, please check this table by Friday, the 24th. Anything left will be donated.

Cookie Containers – There are several plastic containers from the Christmas program and utensils left from various events in the teacher’s lounge. Please claim your items.

Wright City’s Kiwanis Club is asking us to partner with Wright City public school in a diaper drive for local families through the Parents as Teachers’ Program. Cash donations also will be accepted. This drive will be a fun competition between LCA and Wright City school, to be completed at the LCA/Wright City Mayor’s Cup Basketball Game, Friday, January 24th. Donations can be dropped off at LCA or you can bring them the night of the game.

INFORMATION TO KNOW:

Service Hours – We are requiring our 7th – 12th Grade students to complete half of their service hours by Christmas break. Students will be required to stay December 18th – 19th after finals to complete those hours. REMINDER – STUDENTS IN 7TH & 8TH GRADES MUST COMPLETE 10 SERVICE HOURS AND STUDENTS IN 9TH – 12TH GRADES MUST COMPLETE 20 SERVICE HOURS BY THE END OF THE SCHOOL YEAR—half of those hours may be done outside LCA. Service Hours done over the summer or during 1st Semester must be given to Mrs. Schloeman by Monday, December 16th in order for them to count.

Thank you – Mrs. Fiske would like to thank all who donated to Samaritan’s Purse classroom project. The 7-12th grades raised $110! The money order went out to Franklin Graham’s organization this past week!

Thanks also to all who donated toys to the Wright City Toy Drive. Together, we were able to make many children’s Christmas a little brighter. Thanks again for your generosity.

Christmas Toy Drive – We are partnering with Wright City Chamber of Commerce to collect toys for children in the area. Please drop off new, unwrapped toys in the barrels at LCA by Thursday, December 12th.

Outside Service Hours Opportunity for Students - Servant’s Heart will be ringing the bell for the Salvation Army Red Kettle campaign. This is a great opportunity to help provide needed funding in Warrenton County to serve families in need. They have 24 spots to fill!!!
